Within walking distance of the aforementioned scented Song Huong, the Asia Hotel is family-owned and run, and a very cheery place to overnight. Smarter and swisher hotels there maybe in Vietnam, but for straightforward honest comfort and a central location in Hue, the nine-storey, 3 year- old Asia Hotel.
There’s a modest complement of just 60 rooms, including dozen suites. Upgrade to an Asia Suite for a Jacuzzi, though they’re all well proportioned and fittet out. The international-flavored breakfast buffet is laid out in the Panorama Club, while the sizeable la Caramel lays on Vietnamese as well as some European specialties. But they are both trumped by the Poolside Bar, with views over the city, up to Ngu Binh mountain out to da Vien island and, of course, across the Perfum River.
