The Danang International Paramotor Competition 2012 will be held
at the Eastern Sea Park in Son Tra District from May 23rd to 27th.
This was announced at a meeting between Danang People’s Committee and the AiREA
Consultancy Company on February 14th.
There will be 50 competitors in eight teams from Japan, the Republic of Korea,
China, Spain, Germany, England, France and the US.
The teams will compete for four events: speed flying, point-counting flying,
team flying and rescue flying. The scheduled fly length will be 5 kilometers
from the East Sea Park to Sandy Beach Hotel.
The cost of the competition will be about VND 15 billion from non-government
funding.
Together with major activities, the organising board will arrange a kiosk
introducing local tourism, a Vietnam-style gastronomy garden and a countryside
fair.
The organising board forecasts about 70 percent of the foreign visitors coming
to Danang to enjoy the competition will be from Japan. For that reason, they
will coordinate with Japanese communication firms to help promote the event in
big cities in Japan.
