Over 17 million people visits HCM City war museum

The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City has welcomed more than 17 million visitors in the past 40 years, including 6.5 million foreigners, Director Huynh Ngoc Van said at a ceremony marking the museum’s 40th anniversary on September 9.
From 2011 to 2015, the museum has been consecutively listed among the 25 most attractive museums in Asia by the prestigious tourism website Tripadvisor.
It was also ranked as one of the top 100 attractions in Ho Chi Minh City voted by domestic and foreign visitors.
According to Huynh Ngoc Van, the museum has collected about 15,000 exhibits, from documents to photographs and objects, and is searching for more not only in the country but also abroad.
On the occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the “For the cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism” insignia to eight outstanding individuals who have made great contributions to the museum./.
